Parents sacrifice all sorts of things for their children, like this dad who sold his beloved classic racecar during tough times. However, his son recently paid his father back in an unexpected way, presenting the drag car, called Brief Encounter, after an unexpected twist.
See the Lamborghini-like car a guy made out of scraps.
We love stories like this because it shows how kids when they’re all grown up fully appreciate what their parents have done for them, even if as children they didn’t really understand. After all, the son just knew the racecar was there one day and gone the next, but he never asked where it went, even when he was an adult.
But a guy who saw the drag racer at his local strip in Maryland appreciated what it was. He made an offer the current owner couldn’t refuse, then started researching his newly acquired ride. After some digging, he was able to uncover its past and track down the original owner, contacting the son.
Needless to say, the son was shocked, probably figuring the car was long gone, just a fading distant memory. But after talking to the guy in Maryland, the two decided they should reunite the guy’s dad with his beloved racecar.
Arranging a dramatic reveal, the dad was in fact shocked, saying he couldn’t believe he was laying eyes on the vehicle he sold long ago to keep his family afloat financially. The guy got to sit in the driver’s seat again, check out the engine, and even signed the dash.
The original owner of the vehicle is now in his 90s. He used to race back in the early 60s and into the 70s, but life took an unexpected turn. Rather than pursue his hobby and make his family sacrifice, the man kissed the car he loved goodbye, likely believing he would never see it again.
