There isn’t anything sexy about a classic Volvo Brick, although this old 262C does have a little extra. After all, the little coupe was designed by Bertone with the roof lowered for a sportier appearance, but it’s still not something you would expect can roast tires all day. That’s why this particular one might be the ultimate sleeper build.
Teen builds a sleeper Chevelle Malibu.
Built by Eric Curran of West Coast Exotic Cars, the guy literally used his dad’s old car to make something special. Instead of juicing up the old Swedish mill, something we know some enthusiasts do, he decided to go a much different route.

Taking a dry sump supercharged LT4 donated by a C6 Corvette Z06 and dropping that into this Volvo turned it into a ridiculous tire roaster. At least people can’t complain this is yet another LS swap!
What’s funny is Curran’s dad had already tinkered with the car. You’ll notice the original vinyl on the roof is gone and the paint is a modern metallic black. He also dropped a Buick Grand National’s engine into the Swedish ride, so one could say like father like son.
There’s zero indication that this Volvo has a big thumping supercharged V8 sitting under its stock hood. That was made possible thanks to the dry sump tank, allowing the big engine and blower to sit lower and not interfere with the factory metal.

While the engine and supercharger haven’t been modified, there is a modified air intake and exhaust, with Curran estimating output is about 670-horsepower. Plus, it’s mated to a T56 six-speed manual for even more driving fun.
Even though this car is pretty wild, which you can see in the Autotopia LA video we’ve included, he says he’s not done with the build. He wants to do pulleys, maybe an E85 tune, fender flares with wider tires, and perhaps a few other things.
But we think how the Volvo brick is in this video is pretty cool. After all, nobody is going to expect this is a American wolf in Swedish sheep’s clothing.
