After Shaq’s custom RV failed to meet reserve during a Bring A Trailer auction, a buyer stepped up to take it. But before that, the internet people on BAT had a lot of thoughts and criticism not only for how the retired basketball player customized his ride, but how the dealer positioned it for the auction.
This has to be one of Shaq’s coolest custom rides.
Some of the negative comments revolved around the Shaq-themed wrap and interior décor these people found less than desirable. One even called the RV a “rolling egomania machine.” We could return that ad hominin attack with one of our own, but that would be far too easy.

Ultimately, Shaq’s old RV only reached $63,500 on the auction site before bidding closed. It was a shockingly disappointing result considering the star power of the big man and his well-known reputation for customizing his cars.
The seller, Effortless Motors, was able to land a buyer who not only doesn’t hate the Shaq-themed customizations, he loves them. And the guy has plenty of money to pay what the rig is actually worth, instead of spewing envy and vitriol.

And the guy showed up with cash, flying to Effortless Motors in Riverside, California to drive the Shaq RV back in what has to be one of the most epic road trips ever. Can you imagine driving across the country with that kind of ride and the reactions you’d get?
While some of the users on BAT seem to think that’s a huge negative, the unnamed billionaire buyer is of the complete opposite opinion. We’re glad that guy ended up with the vehicle, because having all the customizations appreciated and thus preserved is only right.
After all, there are plenty of other RVs one could buy that haven’t been owned by Shaq and don’t carry his unique style. Those are far more appropriate for all the haters.
