Reality TV star and former professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek has a real love affair with Ferrari, so he decided to create a bespoke version of the SF90 Spider. The man revealed the end result on camera, posting the video to his Instagram account and tagging Ferrari, so we sure hope he had the blessing of Maranello beforehand.

All joking aside, the man used Ferrari’s bespoke design program called Tailor Made to personalize his SF90 Spider, so if anything the automaker will be touting it as an example of what other deep-pocketed owners can do as well.
The video, which we’ve included, shows Dyrdek make a mini speech about his passion for Ferraris before the sheet it pulled off his SF90 Spider, which he has called Angel Lightning. Inspiration for the design apparently comes from the Metallica album Ride the Lightning, thus the name.
Apparently, the blue hue was inspired by Angelite stone, which is supposed to help people relax. That’s a bit ironic for something as raucous as the SF 90. Plus, there’s a white center stripe that hearkens back to Ferraris in the 60s. Everyone can form their opinion about how original or attractive this design is, but Dyrdek seems to love talking about the process of coming up with it.
Dyrdek has other Ferraris personalized through the Tailor Made program, about 14 at the moment. Each one is inspired by Ferrari’s storied past, a song Dyrdek likes, Dyrdek’s personal life, and the “essence” of Ferrari itself. That last one can of course be the most abstract and thus more difficult to explain, especially to those who don’t truly understand the brand.
It looks like Dyrdek’s car collection, which is large and growing, will have quite a few more Ferraris customized through Tailor Made in the future. He calls those rides his Forever Collection because he plans on never selling them. He says his goal is to have over 100 Forever Collection cars in his lifetime. We’re sure when he dies, each one will be highly coveted, although he wants to see them stay in the family line.
