While most kei cars aren’t really all that performance-oriented, this Mazda Autozam AZ-1 is an exception. Sure, it’s not some high-powered horsepower hog, but the thing has gullwing doors and enough zip to be fun. Plus, it’s rare and this one is available to purchase right now.
This woman has made her tiny electric car her own cozy home.
Mazda only made about 4,300 of these rides, which is a genuine JDM model. This one is advertised with a clean Illinois title, so we assume it was imported correctly and is ready to register in your state.

This specific car is also advertised as a Mazdaspeed edition of the Autozam AZ-1. It bears the telltale rear wing and body kit, making it look sportier, so we have no reason to believe it’s not.
While the turbocharged three-cylinder 657cc engine isn’t exactly a hulk, it is paired with a slick 5-speed manual transmission, so it should be loads of fun to drive. Aftermarket modifications include an intake, Fujistubo exhaust, and a bow off valve.
Someone also added a Momo steering wheel and carbon fiber side mirror caps. Plus, there’s a Carrozzeria head unit paired with Pioneer speakers so you can enjoy some tunes.

The little Mazda sports car rolls on 14-inch gold Rays wheels, which pair really well with the exterior.
In the photos included in the online listing, we don’t see any obvious blemishes on this little kei car. The red paint shows well, so either someone babied this thing or it was repainted recently.
The interior also looks fantastic. There is a little bit of damage on the driver’s bottom seat cushion, but other than that we can’t see anything wrong. The black and red checkboard floor mats are a great touch along with the blue seats with high bolstering.

Even if people aren’t into cars, we think this one looks so unique and fun, you’ll get a lot of stares and questions. Just beware, the price of admissions to this ride is $33,499 OBO.
