When the 24 Hours of Le Mans starts on June 14, you might not recognize the blue livery on a Porsche 911 GT3 R. After all, emblazoned right on the nose is a fictional team name, Chip Hart Racing, which is about to become famous thanks to the upcoming F1 movie release.
The Mustang Challenge hits the big leagues at Le Mans.
The crew that will be piloting the Porsche with movie-inspired livery are Antares Au from Hong Kong, Klaus Bachler from Austria, and Loek Hartog from the Netherlands. They were able to secure a starting position at Le Mans by wining the Asian Le Mans Series.

In the film, Brad Pitt’s character Sonny Hayes helms the race team, taking the top spot on the podium at the 24 Hours of Daytona. Hayes retired from racing, but he’s encouraged to get back in for one final go, eventually ending up in Formula One.
At last year’s 24 Hours of Daytona, Chip Hart Racing was present even though many racing fans didn’t realize it. The fictional team was embedded with Porsche customer team Wright Motorsports, allowing the film crew to get real footage of the annual competition.
That realism is a big reason why we’re excited for the F1 movie’s release. While it will be loaded with plenty of Hollywood sensationalism as well, like someone as old as Pitt being competitive in the F1 field, it should give normies a good idea of what the motorsports world is really like while thrilling gearheads who give it a chance.

We’re not expecting a documentary but are hoping it rises to the level of Top Gun: Maverick.
Maybe this particular Porsche 911 GT3 R will capture a podium finish. We think the team behind the F1 movie would be ecstatic because the marketing cache from that would be huge.
