Even though he’s been dead for almost eleven years, for many in the automotive world the loss of Paul Walker is still a sensitive area. Not only did he star in the hugely influential Fast and Furious movie series, he was a true gearhead with a collection of amazing rides to prove it. Now one of those vehicles, a 1969 Chevy Camaro RS Z28, is headed to auction.
Cybertruck owner loves his vehicle even though it cut him badly enough for an ER visit.
In its own rite, just about any ’69 Camaro that hasn’t disintegrated into dust is going to attract a number of admirers. After all, many feel it’s the best if not one of the best model years. Apparently Walker felt strongly about it as well.
This particular one comes with a 302ci V8, M21 4-speed manual transmission, LeMans Blue exterior with loads of patina, and a black interior. This thing is still wearing the factory-original Z28 Rally wheels.
It features those hideaway headlights so many love, plus the center console with woodgrain trim. Also included in the factory equipment are auxiliary gauges, a three-spoke steering wheel, and pushbutton radio.
Adding further to the celebrity appeal of this ’69 Camaro is the fact Roger Rodas, the man who was driving the Porsche Carrera GT when it crashed, killing both him and Walker, also owned the classic muscle car.
In fact, Walker and Rodas ordered a Camaro Hi-Performance Report on this car, helping to establish they owned it. Plus, it’s included in a Paul Walker inventory report. When buying an allegedly celebrity-owned ride, it’s good to have documentation proving providence since unfortunately there are those who tend to stretch the truth.
This car will be part of the Mecum Auctions Monterey 2024 event. If you’re interested in this 1969 Chevy Camaro RS Z28 owned by Paul Walker and Roger Rodas, or know someone who might be, you can see the lot listing for it here.
