We don’t know too many people who need a 10-wheeled Oshkosh M1074 HEMTT, especially one with an engineering tank blade and other upgrades, but boy do we want one. We ran across this fun little toy while perusing car listings recently and think it would make for a rather curious adventure vehicle, or whatever you want to use it for.
Learn why the Bradley Fighting Vehicle just won’t die.
The current owner has been making all kinds of interesting modifications which make this old military truck a potential outdoor excursion vehicle and home base. That includes the blade on the front and a metal camper shell on the back.

According to the listing, the Oshkosh is 98 percent completed. We guess the idea is you’d finish off this project, putting in the finishing touches just the way you like them. Why the current owner isn’t doing that isn’t stated in the listing, but it would be an excellent question for serious shoppers who have the $215,000 to buy it should consider asking.
You might already know the M1074 HEMTT comes with a crane sitting behind the second axle. The guy kept it and the outriggers. What you do with the crane is up to you, but it could be a handy feature.
There’s also a 100-gallon diesel tank to keep the engine going, which apparently only has 2,800 miles on it. This thing also comes with an Allison automatic transmission plus 10×10 drive with a locking diff.
In case you need it, there’s a 20,000 lbs. winch that can pull from the front of rear of the vehicle. In the camper shell areas is a 300 gallon auxiliary diesel tank. Plus, around back is a 175 gallon auxiliary fuel tank, 100 gallon black/grey water tank, and a 100 gallon fresh water tank. In other words, this thing is designed to take you far away from civilization for a long time.

That camper shell appears to be made of steel with all the joints fully welded, plus three-inch cell foam insulation sitting under the interior wood walls and ceiling, so you should be able to heat or cool the area and keep it the desired temperature.
You would need to add a way to climb up into the camper, plus all the niceties you desire for your overland or extended outdoor adventures. With plenty of options out there these days, your biggest problem might be narrowing down which ones to choose.
But this Oshkosh would be a bit of a project. And it wouldn’t be cheap to run, let alone buy. Obviously, storing it would be an issue for most people. But if you can swing all that, it could make for some amazing memories.
