Many still fantasize about driving an old Caprice police car, so the fact one is available in what seems to be excellent condition should be exciting news. And this isn’t just any old cruiser, but instead the 2011 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle used to be the personal vehicle for the chief of police in Sedona, California.
Learn about the car scam that trapped actor Aaron Paul.
That means instead of the regular black and white scheme, or the friendlier all white with graphics, this car is more subtle with a black and chrome exterior and no markings indicating its purpose. There are 18-inch steel wheels with covers.
The interior is also similarly clean with black cloth and vinyl upholstery. Luxuries abound, like power windows, power-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, and a CD player. After all, the chief gets to ride in style.
Just don’t mistake this old cop car for being soft. With a 6.0-liter L77 V8 under the hood, it packs quite the punch with an Airaid intake system added. A six-speed automatic transmission combined with a limited- slip differential gets those rear wheels turning and burning rubber when necessary. Plus, four-wheel vented disc brakes bring this Chevy to a halt in a hurry.
Because this wasn’t a patrol vehicle, this Caprice comes with GM’s 9C3 Unmarked Police Package. You’ll note someone after this was done serving law enforcement decided to add Holden badging to honor the origins of this muscular sedan. Plus, you can enjoy the subtle inboard foglights.
