People are shocked to see footage of YouTube sensation Mr. Beast crash a Formula E racecar while driving it on a track. The video shows the online star exit a turn and get on the throttle before the back end breaks loose sending him into a spin that ultimately ends with the open-wheel racer hitting the barrier.
Morgan Freeman has been named grand marshal for an upcoming NASCAR race.
Thankfully, Mr. Beast wasn’t hurt and the vehicle didn’t appear to sustain serious damage. Still, officials hoisted it onto a wrecker and took it back to the pit for mechanics to go through it.

The incident went down during the Formula E Evo Sessions at Miami Hard Rock Stadium circuit. As the celebrity was behind the wheel of Cupra Kiro team’s Gen3 Evo car. Officials showed up on the scene shortly after and Mr. Beast, real name James “Jimmy” Donaldson, was checked over before being declared to have a clean bill of health, reports the Mirror.
Some are blaming the crash on cold tires. Since the vehicle had only done one lap before the crash, that seems plausible. This is why in drag racing drivers will do burnouts, heating up the tire compound so it grips properly on launch.
But in circuit racing, drivers have to be careful until the tires are heated up enough. Mr. Beast likely didn’t understand that concept fully, but we’re surprised nobody explained that to him before letting him take the Formula E car for a jaunt.
There was a safety car giving Donaldson a slower pace, but it wasn’t slow enough to keep the guy from going into a 360-degree spin before literally hitting the wall.
The car Donaldson crashed is usually driven by David Bechmann of Germany. Teammate Dan Ticktum reportedly smirked when he saw what the YouTuber had done. Apparently, the celebrity was apologetic and somewhat embarrassed when he made it back to the pit lane.
This is yet another example of how racecar drivers make what they do look easy when it’s anything but.
