Mike Tyson’s Custom Range Rover Limo from Scottish Sojourn Hits the Auction Block

In an upcoming auction that promises an array of automotive treasures, one vehicle stands out for its unique history and celebrity connection. A 1994 Range Rover Vogue LSE, transformed into a lavish limousine, once chauffeured the legendary boxer Mike Tyson around Glasgow, Scotland, in 2000. This vehicle is not just any Range Rover; it underwent a high-end conversion that cost a staggering $171,600 (£135,000), commissioned originally by the Sultan of Brunei.

The bespoke limousine, which saw Tyson during his swift victory over Lou Savarese at Scotland’s Hampden Park, was modified by Townley Cross Country Vehicles. The SUV was stretched by 40 inches and had its roof raised by eight, featuring a laminated sunroof, darkened windows, and a one-piece opening tailgate. Its exterior boasts a Rolls-Royce Mason Black finish, while the interior is adorned with Oxblood Connolly leather, Wilton carpeting, and Burr Walnut trim. Equipped with three plush captain chairs, an electric center division with a glass panel, and an entertainment system including two TV monitors, a CD player, and a VHS player, the limo redefines luxury travel. Under the hood, it houses a 4.3-liter V-8 engine, delivering 200 hp and 251 ft lbs of torque.

Set to be auctioned by Classic Car Auctions, the Range Rover Vogue LSE limousine is expected to fetch between $38,100 and $50,800 (£30,000 and £40,000). This sale, scheduled for March 23 and 24 at the NEC Birmingham, will feature 34 Land Rovers and Range Rovers, including vehicles with royal and celebrity provenance, alongside 19 meticulously restored models crossing the block with no reserve.

Among the highlighted lots are a 2007 Land Rover Discovery used by King Charles III, a 2013 Range Rover Westminster that served as a protection vehicle for the late Queen Elizabeth II, and a 1982 Land Rover Series III owned by a British Olympian. The auction also includes a 1986 Range Rover Overfinch Prototype, a six-wheeled 1969 Range Rover by Carmichael, and a factory 1989 Land Rover Defender County 110, showcasing the diverse and rich history of these iconic vehicles.
