In what some might call an emotional decision, Michael Jackson’s former security guard, Matt Fiddes, has announced he’s scrapping his well-preserved Ferrari 355 GTS after mice chewed on some wires. That’s right, the Italian supercar only has wire damage and the guy has declared the thing is ruined.
Watch Honda NSXs cruise the famous Kanjo Loop.
For many, the 355 GTS is a dream car and that was the case when Fiddes at the ripe age of 19 bought one brand new from a dealer. The guy claims to have cared exceptionally well for the Italian stallion, but some mice still invaded and chewed up the wires, leaving it nonfunctional.
Now we know what you’re saying: wiring can be replaced. But Fiddes claims the damage can’t be repaired because the Ferrari is so rare. That’s quite the claim, one we’re not apt to just swallow whole, but the insurance company agreed and totaled the supercar out.
Before you start crying a river for Fiddes, we know he owns a Ferrari F40 and probably has plenty of other cool rides stashed away somewhere, so we think he’ll be okay. In fact, we somewhat wonder if his posting on social media about losing the 355 GTS is more a cry for attention.
After all, nobody’s heeding his advice on how to manage today’s geopolitical situation. He’s more than qualified to do just that because he kept Michael Jackson safe and he’s started a successful chain of martial arts schools.
He’s also hawking his business coaching service, in case you’re wondering. But all of that is ancillary to the core issue: his poor beloved Ferrari was absolutely ruined by mice. There’s no possibility of rewiring it (allegedly) and he’s very sad about it. Like all normal people, that requires getting on social media and posting about your loss for some sweet engagement farming.
But at the same time Fiddes says, “I don’t care” in regard to losing the Ferrari supercar. After all, as he proudly declares after, “All that matters is your health and your family.” Why did he put family second?
It doesn’t really matter. The lesson here is to keep your garage rodent-free through traps or whatever you think is the best method. After all, it’s well-known mice like to chew wires in cars.
