There’s no denying Mercedes-AMG Petronas is feeling a little bit of frustration as the 2025 Formula One season is about to begin. After all, the last few seasons haven’t gone according to plan as the Germans haven’t been in high contention for the constructor’s championship, something the team hopes to change this year.
Watch two American performance electric cars throw down against each other on the track.
Then there’s the issue of star driver Lewis Hamilton switching over to Scuderia Ferrari HP. Will that hurt or help Mercedes? That’s a question many are asking and nobody has a clear answer, yet.

Right on the coattails of that question is if George Russell will step up and fill that gap? Or will Kimi Antonelli be the prodigy some believe he’s destined to become, and can that happen this season? There’s a lot riding on both drivers.
Mercedes-AMG Petronas has finally revealed its F1 W16 E Performance, the car which hopefully will be piloted to a number of podium finishes and perhaps the constructor’s championship this time around.
Nobody is more reticent of these questions and more than Toto Wolff, Co-Owner, CEO, and Team Principal of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. “Everyone at the team, in Brackley and Brixworth, has been hard at work over the winter,” he said in a press release from the team. “Last season was incredibly competitive on the track and, whilst we took several wins, we are all focused on challenging for victories more consistently. We have made gains in the off-season, but we will only know where we stand come the first race in Australia.”
This F1 season is shaping up to be one that might never be forgotten, a standout with rule changes, shakeups in many teams, and enough drama both on and off the circuits to keep fans talking excitedly. We can’t wait to see how things play out.
