It’s obvious Formula One driver Max Verstappen gets to drive some cool cars on the regular, but recently he got behind the wheel of the Honda 0 SUV Prototype. We’re not sure if the all-electric grocery getter really qualifies as cool compared the racecars, hypercars, and supercars the man is well-acquainted with, but did get to experience the prototype before pretty much anyone else in the world.
Check out Lando Norris’ new Lamborghini.
Honda used the Red Bull Showrun event in Tokyo ahead of the Japanese GP to get people excited about its future electrification plans. Considering F1 racing gets global attention, it’s not a bad move.

The 0 SUV Prototype was first revealed at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show in Last Vegas back in January. A lot of people missed it because there were wildfires raging in California and some other crazy stuff going on.
Tapping into its partnership with Red Bull Racing, Honda yet again is getting Verstappen behind the wheel of one of its experimental vehicles. But the Honda 0 SUV Prototype previews the 0 Series vehicles which will start rolling off the production line at the Honda EV Hub located in Ohio next year.
Sticking out like a sore thumb at the Red Bull Showrun gathering where the RB16B and RB7 F1 racecars were also featured, as was the RA272, the first Honda-built F1 car to win a race, the 1965 Mexico GP.
Once it’s no longer in the prototype phase, the Honda 0 SUV will be the first production model in the 0 Series. One of the design hallmarks is supposed to be an interior which prioritizes occupant comfort, part through “ultra-personal optimization” and Honda’s operating system ASIMO OS. Someone should ask Verstappen for his honest opinion of the prototype’s interior.
According to Honda, the crazy geometric wrap on the prototype SUV is supposed to be a visual representation of its philosophy behind the upcoming 0 Series EVs, which is “Think, Light, and Wise.” Yeah, we think it’s pretty abstract, too.
