Having someone crash through the front gate of your swanky mansion property would be scary, and that’s something actress Jennifer Aniston unfortunately knows firsthand. The Friends star was home when a man drove his car through the gate of her estate in Bel-Air, although the guy’s motive still isn’t clear.
Find out why Jay Leno has spoken out against a Ferrari mechanic.
What we do know is Aniston smartly had private security on the grounds. One member of the security team pulled the driver out of the vehicle after the crash, which is being described as not looking the least bit accidental.
Even scarier, Aniston was home at the time. We don’t know what she witnessed herself, but one has to wonder if the suspect knew she was at her Los Angeles residence, considering the gate crashing sounds intentional.
Maybe the guy didn’t know who lived in the mansion but instead had a plan to crash the gate, then help himself to some pricey stuff? Few details are being shared, just that the incident went down on the afternoon of Monday, May 5.
We do know security held the driver and police took him into custody after they arrived on the scene. He was later booked into jail and charged with felony vandalism. That doesn’t mean additional charges aren’t coming as investigators dig into the evidence and the man’s background.
According to ABC7, the suspect does have a criminal history, although it’s “minor.”
One of our first thoughts upon hearing about this gate crashing incident and the fact Aniston was home at the time was that some crazy stalker tried getting to her. But so far nothing has bee released that would indicate that’s the case.
Still, this is a great example of why if you are famous and have a gated-off estate, going with the more reinforced, upgraded gate and fencing, maybe even some retractable bollards, would be a great idea.
