Kim Delaney’s husband, James Morgan, was arrested Sunday night after authorities responded to multiple noise complaints at the couple’s Los Angeles-area residence, according to published reports. The incident is the latest development in a series of domestic disputes involving the longtime television actor and her spouse.
Law enforcement officers from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to at least three separate calls reporting a disturbance at the couple’s apartment in the Marina Del Rey neighborhood around 10:30 p.m. Officials said the situation stemmed from a verbal dispute inside the home. During the investigation, Morgan allegedly refused to cooperate with deputies.
Morgan was taken into custody and charged with obstructing or delaying a public officer, along with disturbing the peace. He was booked at the Marina Del Rey sheriff’s station and later released by Monday morning. Representatives for Delaney, 64, were not immediately available to comment.
The arrest follows a turbulent period for the couple, who married in 2022. In October, Delaney was granted a restraining order against Morgan amid allegations of ongoing abuse and harassment. The order barred him from approaching her homes in both Marina Del Rey and New Jersey and prohibited direct communication. The pair have reportedly been involved in divorce proceedings since March 2023, with Delaney citing irreconcilable differences.
Sunday’s incident also comes less than a year after Delaney herself was arrested in April following an alleged altercation between the two. Authorities became involved after a prolonged dispute, during which Delaney was accused of attempting to strike Morgan with her vehicle. She later reported Morgan for domestic violence following an argument that allegedly escalated into physical confrontation.
Police records from that incident indicate Morgan left the home but returned the next morning, prompting Delaney to contact officers. Morgan reportedly provided video evidence related to the alleged vehicle incident. Delaney was booked on a felony assault charge involving a deadly weapon, while Morgan faced a misdemeanor battery charge.
Despite the legal troubles, the couple briefly appeared to reconcile, with Delaney publicly acknowledging Morgan’s birthday shortly after the arrests. However, she has not shared images or public references to him since May 2025, suggesting the relationship has remained strained amid ongoing legal and personal challenges.
