It’s no secret Joe Rogan is a huge car guy. The popular podcaster, standup comedian, and UFC commentator isn’t exactly hurting for cash and his garage reflects that abundance of wealth. But the man has added yet another toy to his stable, a 2024 Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000 Freedom Series.
This 1986 Chevy Monte Carlo has a Hellcat heart.
Rogan took delivery of the super truck on August 6, posing with John Hennessey himself for a photo to commemorate the occasion. The truck looks great in the picture with a Shelter Green exterior with the patriotic-themed graphics for a striking appearance.
Using the Ford Raptor R as a base, the VelociraptoR 1000 takes an already wondrously capable off-road pickup and pushes it further. Output has been bumped up to 1,000-horsepower thanks to performance upgrades like a high-flow air induction system, larger supercharger, and upgraded fuel injectors.
To help owners enjoy the perfect exhaust note, Hennessey fabricated a custom stainless steel exhaust system for the truck. It’s also outfitted with a more robust intercooler for predictable performance under stress.
Considering how much Rogan loves to play in the outdoors, including his famous hunting excursions, we’re sure he’ll make good use of the VelociRaptoR 1000 and its rugged capabilities. At the very least it’s a fun toy to use for playing hard in nature.
We’re sure it wasn’t absolutely necessary financially, but Rogan traded in his Mammoth 1000 Ram TRX, also modified by Hennessey Performance, to get his latest pickup. That fact might rile the Mopar crowd some and give Blue Oval fans a reason to boast, but we don’t know what was behind the decision.
Even more curious is the fact Hennessey Performance made a point of mentioning it, almost like it’s encouraging others to trade in their vehicles for something newer.
