We can remember a time when trucks like this 1966 Chevy C10 weren’t luxury barges with supple leather upholstery, chrome trim, and open-pore wood inlays. They were workhorses and weren’t even considered legitimate until they had at least one dent in them. So it’s great to see this custom build where the truck looks like a real truck
Check out a crazy six-wheeled Chevy C10 build.
We’re not just talking about some patina people pay big bucks to own these days. This Chevy had no hood, dents galore, and even some rust eating through one of the fenders. If you couldn’t see the engine, you would think this thing is just one giant turd.
That engine you see all exposed is an LQ9 block bored and stroked to 408ci with upgraded internals, including a performance cam designed for good top end power. The guy runs through the whole list of upgrades in the video, in case you want details.
Literally on top of all that is a Holley Hi-Ram Intake. The guy says this is making 625-horsepower at the crank and 500 at the wheels – not too shabby. You can see in the video this thing will roast its tires all day long.
Amazingly, this truck is still rocking its original chassis. Same goes for all the suspension components, which is even more miraculous. We would’ve guessed the guy had at least upgraded some of the suspension, if not the entire thing, considering how many innovations have been made in that area just in the past 20 years.
However, he did add disc brakes all around, a smart move considering the power bump.
This build is unique in a lot of surprising ways, including the fact the owner is 25-years-old. Don’t let anyone tell you kids these days don’t love playing with cars, because that’s a lie.
