A Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport isn’t the kind of vehicle most people would take out to run errands, but a YouTuber recently tried it out and documented the experience. Honestly, this is why all the exotic brands are coming out with crossovers because they’re far more practical for daily use, not to mention owners can haul friends and family in them as well.
YouTuber bares all about the true cost of owning a Ferrari.
But Ed Bolian really wanted to see just how practical (or should we say impractical?) driving his Veyron around town while running errands for a day would be. He says the supercar is rather civil at low speeds and RPMs, which is a good thing since some performance cars are unbearable in regular traffic.
However, he seemed a little concerned about overheating while going through a Chick-Fil-A drive-through. And he questioned if doing that was a financially sound decision. But it sure makes for good YouTube content.
As expected, he also gets a lot more attention on the road. People honk and give him the thumbs up. Some people love being the focal point on the road and brightening other’s day, but for some this would be a nightmare.
On the flip side, the Bugatti doesn’t maneuver quite so well at low speeds. That makes parking a chore and U-turns require an extra lane, explains Bolian. Plus, steep driveways and roads can be hazardous. In other words, your mom’s RAV-4 is in fact far more practical for everyday tasks.
Bolian gives some interesting advice to exotic car owners who want to go out on the town. He counsels them to drive and park it like a normal ride. In other words, don’t hot dog around, don’t double park it, and don’t behave like you’re better than everyone else. He claims if you do that the vast majority of people will treat you and your vehicle with respect.
Still, he admits to taking his Bugatti to valet parking whenever it’s available, tipping generously, then asking to park it himself in the valet lot. That’s pretty smart.
All in all, we have to conclude that daily driving a Bugatti Veyron isn’t a great idea. But Bolian’s video about it is entertaining, so check it out.
