If you’re on the hunt for a racecar, you might want to consider this 1966 Ford Mustang that’s being auctioned online right now. Converted into a racer back in the 90s, it has been used in vintage races, so it could be your ticket to such motorsports events. Obviously, all that hinges on if you like what you see and you’re able to come out on top in the bidding process.
Or you could get a six-wheeled Ford Ranger.
Under the hood of this Mustang is a 331ci Dart small block V8 built by Motor Masters Racing Equipment back in June 2021. That engine works with a Super T-10 four-speed manual transmission, plus a Positraction diff with 3.73:1 gearing to send power to the rear wheels. Driving such a setup should prove if nothing else entertaining.
Wearing classic white paint with decals, including hood and door numbers, this Mustang also wears a GT350R-style front bumper and Torq Thrust-style wheels. The side windows have been completely removed and the interior is gutted. You’ll note there’s a side-exit exhaust system and hood pins, ensuring it looks the part.
This car also comes with a full roll cage, fuel cell, adjustable shocks, front disc brakes, and traction bars, so it’s ready to campaign or just take to occasional track events, whichever you choose.
Also included in the deal are spare parts, logbooks, and a bill of sale. Actual mileage for this car is unknown, says the seller.
At the time this article was written, the high bid on this car was $5,555. Undoubtedly, that amount will grow, but by how much when the final bid is placed? You have to decide if this racer is worth bidding on, or if you want a horse of a different flavor.
