Genesis has revealed a dramatic new concept vehicle that pushes the brand into unfamiliar and extreme territory. Called the X Skorpio Concept, the machine is a V8-powered off-road supercar designed for high-speed desert driving, airborne jumps, and endurance-style recreation rather than paved-road performance or traditional luxury cruising.
The concept has been developed with a specific audience in mind, reflecting the off-road racing and recreational driving culture common in parts of the Middle East. Genesis positions the vehicle as an exploration of adrenaline-fueled driving, favoring raw capability and spectacle over conventional notions of leisure or refinement.
At the heart of the X Skorpio Concept is a V8 engine producing a stated 1,100 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque. While displacement details have not been released, the output is directed to massive 18-inch beadlock wheels wrapped in 40-inch off-road tires. The vehicle’s suspension has been tuned for high-speed stability and impact absorption, paired with a short wheelbase, significant ground clearance, and generous approach and departure angles intended to handle aggressive landings and rough terrain.
The exterior design reflects its purpose. High wheel arches, reinforced skid plates, and precision-engineered mechanical components are intended to prevent damage during extreme use. Brembo motorsport-grade brakes are fitted to manage stopping demands at speed. Aerodynamic development plays a role as well, with Genesis stating the design helps maintain stability both on the ground and during moments when the vehicle is airborne.
Safety and structure are central to the concept. A tubular frame, full roll cage, and four-point harness system are integrated throughout the cabin. Materials such as carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass are used in the construction, although overall weight figures have not been disclosed.
Inside, Genesis emphasizes driver comfort and usability despite the vehicle’s extreme mission. The cabin includes specialized seating, climate control, safety grab handles, extensive communications equipment, and a bespoke customizable display system.
The overall design takes visual inspiration from a scorpion, aligning with the concept’s name and aggressive character. Genesis describes the X Skorpio Concept as a signal of future possibilities, highlighting the brand’s interest in exploring emotional, high-adrenaline vehicles beyond its established luxury segments.
