Genesis has revealed its most extreme concept car yet with the debut of the X Skorpio Concept, an off-road-focused sports machine that blends dramatic coupe styling with the proportions and capability of a trophy truck.
The concept follows closely on the heels of the Magma GT, a mid-engined supercar that Genesis has confirmed for production. Rather than signaling a shift away from experimental front-engined designs, the X Skorpio reinforces the brand’s ongoing exploration of unconventional performance vehicles under its X-branded concept program.

Visually, the X Skorpio builds on the design language established by the earlier X Gran Berlinetta concept. It retains the long hood, sweeping profile, and signature two-line lighting design that have defined recent Genesis concepts. The major departure lies beneath the surface, where the Skorpio abandons grand touring intentions in favor of extreme off-road capability.
Genesis describes the X Skorpio as an off-road SUV in spirit, though its low-slung, coupe-like silhouette places it outside any traditional segment. Massive fender flares accommodate 40-inch off-road tires mounted on 18-inch beadlock wheels. While the automaker has not released full dimensions, it says the vehicle features generous approach and departure angles, a short wheelbase, extreme ground clearance, and a high breakover angle designed for rugged terrain.
Unlike many past Genesis concepts, the X Skorpio includes detailed powertrain information. The vehicle is said to be powered by a V-8 producing 1,100 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque, positioning it far beyond conventional off-road vehicles in terms of output.
The exterior design draws inspiration from a black scorpion in a defensive stance, according to Genesis. Distinctive features include a functional roof scoop and a large array of LED fog lights mounted below the brand’s signature front fascia.
Inside, the cabin balances performance-focused design with a level of comfort uncommon in off-road competition vehicles. Controls and displays emphasize driver engagement, including a screen integrated into the steering wheel and a button-heavy center console. A dedicated passenger display provides navigation information, reinforcing the vehicle’s off-road mission.
Genesis indicated the X Skorpio is unlikely to reach production. Alongside its debut, the company outlined a broader concept car strategy that frames these vehicles as design and engineering statements rather than previews of future models. The automaker said the concepts are intended to express the brand’s aspirations and explore what may be possible over time.
Genesis also revealed additional off-road-themed concepts based on existing production vehicles, including the GV60 Outdoors Concept, GV70 Outdoors Concept, and GV80 Desert Edition, further signaling the brand’s growing interest in adventure-oriented design experimentation.
