The fledgling Genesis Magma Racing is already hitting the big leagues at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend. Two of the team’s drivers will be joining another team in racing around the Circuit de la Sarthe in what many consider the ultimate endurance racing test in the world, giving them invaluable experience.
Porsche is using a fictional livery at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Those Genesis Magma drivers, Jamie Chadwick and Mathys Jaubert, will be teaming up with André Lotterer to drive the #18 IDEC Sport-run Oreca 07. Neither of the two Genesis drivers have ever competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans before.
But Lotterer has, having three overall Le Mans victories under his belt. Since he’s joining Genesis Magma Racing for the 2026 WEC season, he will get to know his future teammates much better.

This is happening as the team gets ready to enter the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship, making a huge step forward for the Korean automaker’s motorsports efforts. It will no doubt prove to be a baptism by fire, providing drivers and the crew with experience and feedback on things which need to be improved.
It’s an exciting time for the Genesis brand and its fans.
During the endurance race, the freshly revealed Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar will be on display at the Genesis Magma Racing booth, located in the Manufacturer Village inside the Circuit de la Sarthe. The racecar was just revealed in April during the New York International Auto Show.
Genesis Magma Racing Team Principal Cyril Abiteboul says the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be a critical aspect of the team’s forward momentum. “It is a chance for our team members in our Trajectory program to feel the atmosphere and excitement unique to Le Mans to be ready to perform in 2026. They will be able to see first-hand the extremely busy and competitive environment Genesis Magma Racing is stepping into and understand more of what is needed for a strong execution next year.”
