EXOMOD has unveiled Blue Suede, a one-of-one build that challenges traditional ideas of what a classic Dodge Charger can be. Rather than restoring or lightly modernizing a vintage car, the company reimagined the 1968 Charger from the ground up using a modern performance platform and advanced materials typically associated with exotic supercars.
Blue Suede is based on a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat “Last Call,” providing a contemporary foundation that includes modern safety systems, reliability, and performance. Power comes from the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8, rated at 717 horsepower, paired with an 8HP90 eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The result is performance far beyond what was possible when the original Charger debuted more than 50 years ago.
The most distinctive element of the build is its carbon-fiber body. Every exterior panel is constructed from carbon fiber and finished in a transparent Cobalt Blue Kandy tint, leaving the carbon weave visible beneath the surface. This approach, more commonly seen on elite European hypercars, transforms the familiar Charger shape into something both nostalgic and futuristic.
More than 2,000 hours were invested in the project, including extensive engineering work to integrate the carbon-fiber body with the modern Hellcat chassis. Carbon components extend across the exterior, including the chin spoiler, hood scoop, side skirts, rear diffuser, scallops, bumblebee stripes, and tail panel. Satin graphite accents, a flip-top gas cap, grille details, and taillight bezels provide subtle contrast.
Under the hood, the attention to detail continues with custom carbon-fiber panels and a supercharger finished in a matching Cobalt Blue Kandy tint. Inside, the cabin combines modern technology with custom craftsmanship, featuring Pacific Laguna leather, black Alcantara, pearl diamond stitching, and red seatbelts. Infotainment, navigation, cruise control, and electronic safety systems are fully integrated.
Braking is handled by 15.7-inch slotted rotors with red Brembo calipers, while Forgeline GT3 wheels fill out the widebody stance. EXOMOD describes this approach as a “RetroMod,” focusing on replacing outdated platforms rather than upgrading them.
Blue Suede is available by request through Chicago Motor Cars, offering a modern interpretation of an American icon without the compromises of a vintage platform.
