Blazin Rodz showed up at the SEMA 2024 show in Las Vegas with a highly modified 1970 Chevelle it calls Doughboy and there’s a lot going on with it. Not only is the thing ridiculously powerful, which we love, its design was inspired by drag racers, GT Cup cars, and apparently modern exotic supercars. In other words, this isn’t your father’s or grandfather’s Chevelle by any stretch of the imagination.

Some will be mesmerized by this build, others will probably find it to be a little too much, but we think it shows what Blazin Rodz can do.
The crazy horsepower comes from the 540ci big block built by ACE Racing Engines and twin Precision 8385 Next Gen turbochargers. To keep everything running smoothly under load, the shop 3D printed carbon-fiber radiator cuts and heat exchanger outlets, giving the air-to-water intercooler a faster way to shed heat.
Other parts used in the body kit were also 3D-printed, showing the technology is more than just an idle plaything. To created the body kit, it was first sculpted by hand, then 3D-scanned to ensure tight fitment, because nothing looks worse than an ill-fitting body kit.
As you can clearly see, the result is phenomenal. Even if you don’t love the aesthetics of the body kit, which understandably isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea, the craftsmanship is top tier. The same is true of the interior and engine compartment.
3D printing isn’t the only cutting-edge technology used for this build. The firewall was designed in CAD, then fabricated using a pioneering CNC method that’s supposed to ensure better precision and improve surface finish. A similar process was used for the roll cage in the cabin.
