Far too many V8 cars are disappearing these days, including the Lexus LC 500, if a new report is to be believed. While it’s sad news we would love to not be true, the writing has been on the wall for a while, so we’re not surprised.
This Pontiac Fiero has a red hot Cadillac V8 engine swap.
After all, the Lexus IS 500 and RC 500, which use the same svelte 5.0-liter V8 engine, have been shown the door. It was only a matter of time before the LC 500 line was also dismissed, thanks to the trend of downsizing engines.

According to Japanese automotive site Creative Trend, the Lexus LC 500, LC 500h, and LC 500 Convertible will all be discontinued. To celebrate the end of the run, Lexus will reveal a limited run Pinnacle Edition.
It will be the last car to come with the much celebrated V8 engine, which will ride into the sunset. We predict it will be remembered fondly by enthusiasts and vehicles with it will be sought after.
Reportedly, there will be some unique aesthetics for the Lexus LC 500 Pinnacle Edition, including a carbon fiber rear spoiler, red brake calipers, and distinct 21-inch forged alloy wheels. Coupes will come in a new Matte Silver, but Convertible models will bear Neutrino Gray paint and a Sand Beige soft top.
As for the interior, Pinnacle Edition cars will have semi-aniline leather upholstery, carbon fiber scuff plates, and a black and white color scheme for coupes or a Saddle Tan and white scheme for convertibles.
The report claims the Pinnacle Edition will be a 2026 addition, which will be the final model year for the Lexus LC 500.
There’s no mention of the Pinnacle Edition being sold in the US, so we might get our own swan song for the LC 500 lineup. But it seems this is the end of an era.
