If you’re looking for a fun and unique way to enjoy the great outdoors, this Oshkosh HEMTT A4 just might be the ticket, if you can afford the price of admissions. After all, you won’t see many of these military trucks on the trail or at any RV resort.
Maybe you’d rather own this Humvee ambulance?
In case you aren’t that familiar with the Oshkosh HEMTT A4, this one has been modified with a camper mounted in the rear. During its military service, the truck had a Patriot missile launcher in the same spot. But now it’s ready to rock and roll as a recreational vehicle.

According to the seller, this truck has a mere 5,500 miles on it, which is incredibly low. We’re not sure why the military ditched it, but someone decided to paint it an interesting shade of orange, a big change from the drab olive it likely wore previously.
Obviously, this HEMTT A4 has eight wheels and all eight are powered, so it is an 8×8 truck. While it’s not going to be appropriate for rock crawling, it should be able to get through a lot of off-road areas so long as the trail isn’t narrow, making it fun for journeying into the wilderness.
The seller says everything on it is working, so we assume the diesel engine and the drivetrain aren’t having any issues. The cab is rather basic, but the photos don’t show what the inside of the camper looks like.

That might also be Spartan or it could be plush, or somewhere in the middle. What we do know is a ramp of the rear allows you to transport smaller vehicles like dirt bikes so you can make this Oshkosh your base of operations for fun in the great outdoors.
What’s more, the seller is including a spare transmission in the deal, so that’s nice. Just the truck is going to run you about $140,000.
If you were to buy this truck, what would you use it for? And who would you let ride around in it with you?
