Surveillance footage captured the moment two University of Washington Huskies football players assaulted a bicyclist after running the man off the road in a road rage incident. It’s a shocking revelation which follows after one of those players, who is no longer playing for the school, has been hit with two rape charges, adding to the man’s legal troubles.
His girlfriend sold his classic car out of revenge, so he sued.
Former Washington Huskies running back Tybo Rogers and teammate Diesel Gordon were captured in the surveillance footage which was recently shared with the public by Fox 13 Seattle. As noted by the local news station, Rogers had already been accused of rape when this assault happened, triggering many uncomfortable questions.
Rogers already was present for a court hearing on this road rage assault, which happened back in march on UW’s campus. Allegedly, the two football players were honking and yelling at the student cyclist to get off the road.
In response, the victim flipped off the student athletes, who in turn tried running him off the road. The victim was able to get away from the car and he hid in a campus building’s exterior stairwell. However, the players spotted where he went, and that’s when they beat the guy up.
These two aren’t exactly intellectual giants. The report notes both players were easily identified because their faces are clearly visible in the surveillance footage and their photos are available on the university’s website. Plus, both of them are wearing clothing given only to the football team members, so that narrowed down the list of suspects from the get-go.
It’s possible these two, who are reportedly no longer enrolled at Washington, are trying to get on another college football team. But with their behavior they might be considered too big of a liability. After all, people are beyond tired of road rage, so recruiting players with a history of it could erode community support.
