When you’re the number one podcaster in the world, or in other words Joe Rogan, and you really like cars, you can afford to pour ridiculous resources into a build like this super clean ’69 Nova. The thing looks fantastic, but the more you compare it to a picture of a factory 1969 Chevy Nova, the more you realize all the subtle upgrades that are done so well, you don’t process them at first.
Check out Kyle Busch’s modified 1969 Camaro.
Built by Pure Vision Design, it took the shop multiple years to get it buttoned up correctly. That’s a testament to their dedication in doing an excellent job instead of having a “good enough” attitude about their cars.

Steve Strope, who owns Pure Vision Design, walks Shawn Davis from Autotopia LA through the build, starting with the body modifications. For example, the body line that sits about midway on the sides was removed and parts of a donor ’69 Camaro and ’69 Firebird were added to the fenders and the door.
Instead of going for a period-correct engine, Pure Vision and Rogan opted for a supercharged LT4, the same engine used in the sixth-gen Camaro ZL1. Instead of getting crazy, they kept the engine entirely stock. Considering it makes about 650-horsepower, that’s more than enough to get the Nova moving in a hurry. Plus, it’s more reliable than pushing the envelope with that cost.
Underneath, there’s an independent suspension for the front and rear, all upgraded for superior handling. Art Morrison subframes are also hidden away. The exhaust, brake lines, and fuel line are all tucked away nicely, plus the old Chevy has an eight-inch ground clearance, helping to guard against damage.
Surprisingly, this thing has manual steering, which we guess for Rogan works since he can handle the work. Other interesting details include the dash, which looks like a ’67 Camaro’s because it was designed by the same guy who designed that, the ignition is on the left side as a tribute to Porsches (which Rogan loves), plus there’s a hidden infotainment screen at the top of the center stack.
Check out the video to see even more details, because this build is incredible. Joe Rogan is a lucky man.
