While you might admire a clean classic truck like this 1967 Ford F100 as it’s cruising down the road, most wouldn’t expect it to be a tire-slaying monster. But the pickup, which has been built by Velocity Modern Classics, has a lot of tricks under that beautiful skin, making it a true sleeper restomod.
This 1969 Chevelle restomod is a dream come true.
As the name implies, the shop based out of Pensacola, Florida is all about taking classic vehicles and making them modern without destroying their charm. That’s not an easy balance to strike, because some shops and private individuals go so far, the “classic” is really a modern vehicle wearing some old skin and that’s it.

The engine and powertrain on this F100 are decidedly, unapologetically modern. At the heart is a Gen Three Coyote V8, not the LS some Ford fans were probably fearing would be under the hood. Considering how tunable the Coyote is, it’s a great choice for projects like this, especially if you want to keep everything Blue Oval.
But Velocity left the Coyote alone, keeping it at 460-horsepower, which is plenty for the truck. Mated to it is a 10R80 transmission for a reliable yet fun setup. As for the drivetrain, there’s a Ford 9-inch, something we don’t see anyone complaining about in GM builds.
The whole thing sits on a Roadster Shop chassis, making for great handling. It comes with Fox shocks, a big brake kit with six pistons per caliper.
As for the interior, it’s nice but not overdone. While there’s nice leather upholstery and a touchscreen in the center stack, the truck also has buttons and knobs. It even starts by turning a key in the ignition, so you get to disconnect from all the modern digital stuff for the most part.
Overall, the build quality from Velocity seems excellent with everything buttoned up just so. Sean Davis of Autotopia LA marvels about how it appears like a production vehicle, not a bunch of quirky indications this is a one-of-one hand built ride.
