A famous car YouTuber got into a bit of a confrontation on the side of the road after a Swift semi-truck driver hit his camera car during filming. It happened on a four-lane highway with the commercial vehicle doing thousands of dollars in damage to the Audi that was being used to capture rolling footage.
Why does a brand new Lamborghini have paint problems?
This is the sort of thing which unfortunately is the reality for YouTubers wanting to get shots on public roads. We’re not saying the camera car did anything wrong, we haven’t seen exactly what happened. We’re also not saying the semi driver caused the accident. But we do know things can get crazy when people see cameras and filming where normally there is none.
Plus, the car being filed was a C8 Z06 Corvette, so a flashy ride most people can’t afford. And we know from experience such vehicles can elicit both admiration and scorn, depending on who you’re dealing with.
So the situation was already interesting, but it’s the way the Swift driver escalated things once all three vehicles pulled onto the side of the road that really made the situation spin out of control. After all, accidents happen, that’s why insurance exists, and nobody was injured.
The YouTuber was already annoyed that the truck driver didn’t admit fault, but honestly we wouldn’t expect him to do that. But when the guy tried grabbing one of the crew’s cameras during the verbal disagreement, then stepped “aggressively” towards the YouTuber, things just blew up.
Remember, losing your cool is a great way to make any bad situation worse. You can argue the YouTuber and his crew also escalated things, which is why we think arguing with the other party after a crash is just in general a bad idea. But it does make for good YouTube content.
Check it out for yourself.
