A car YouTuber has shared footage from his garage when a truck he was working on caught fire, threatening to burn the whole structure down rapidly. This is a nightmare scenario for a lot of gearheads, us included, because all your projects, tools, and supplies can literally go up into smoke in no time.
Car museum pays tribute to Ken Block.
In the footage, you see the guy working under the hood of his GMC Sierra when a shower of sparks suddenly flies. One of them hits something quite flammable and flames erupt under the chassis. Quickly, the YouTuber opens the barn doors on his garage, at first we think it’s to help clear out some of the black smoke billowing.
But the man has a plan as he tries pushing the pickup out of the garage in an attempt to save everything else. You can hear him struggle in the smoky footage, then yell for help.
In the meantime, the initial flareup has calmed some, but as the flames start licking higher their size and intensity slowly increase. This is where the danger of losing the structure and everything inside grows dramatically.
He finally gets his wife from the house and they’re able to use her car to pull the flaming Sierra, the front end melting, from the garage and into the snow outside. That quick thinking likely saved the garage and everything inside.
Nitro Rednecks says a follow-up video showing the aftermath of the fire is coming. We expect it’s bad and our hearts go out to the guy. He has in the video description a link to some vinyl stickers he’s selling to help recover his losses.
