An historic moment has arrived as Bill Clinton’s 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Presidential Limousine is about to be sold to a private party. Never before has a fully armored presidential limo been offered to the public like this, at least according to the seller, so as you might imagine a lot of people are chomping at the bit to own this unique ride.
Lewis Hamilton believes driving for Scuderia Ferrari will lead to his “reinvention.”
Instead of the seller just naming a price and having a boutique dealership handle the transaction, Bill Clinton’s former limousine is being sold at auction on January 18 as part of the Mecum Kissimmee 2025 event.
Just imagine sitting in the backseat where all sorts of interesting things surely happened. The lucky buyer will get to sit in the same seat as the former President of the United States, along with other powerful, influential people and probably some interns.
Of course, this isn’t your run-of-the-mill Fleetwood but instead of just one of three fully armored Presidential Limousines constructed for Bill Clinton in 1996. Estimates are that $6,000,000 was sunk into the three highly secure rides, and this one appears to have barely been used with only 627 miles showing on the odometer.
Among the armoring installed in the limo is 3-inch bulletproof glass, just in case. The whole thing has been built to B6 blast-proofing standards. Of course, emergency lights and a siren are also installed. There are also run-flat inserts in the tires, plus oxygen and fire suppression systems in the car. Jack Roush hand-built the 454ci V8 engine.
The whole limousine measures 270 inches long, or 22 feet and 5 inches. The roof was raised 3 inches for additional space and comfort. Plus, the interior features leather upholstery and Zebrano wood trim pieces.
Of course, documentation of this historical ride is also included in the sale. Exactly how much it will auction for is up to speculation since nothing like this has ever crossed the auction block before. But you can check out the lot listing yourself here.
