Seeing two barn find condition C3 Corvettes left to gather dust in an old garage, junk piled around and even on top of them, is a little depressing, maybe even infuriating. What’s even more interesting is when the owner had a famous YouTube detailing channel come out to detail the American sports cars for free, he was very particular about how everything was done.
Should this barn find Dodge Viper be illegal?
That’s ironic on so many levels. Not only is the guy not paying a dime, he’s the one who left the C3 Corvettes just sitting, piled stuff onto them, and either he or someone else drew in the dust that gathered on the paint.
Yet he’s all picky about how these professional detailers wash and otherwise clean his vehicles for free. He even has them do the red car first, apparently to make sure these guys don’t “screw it up” before touching his 427.
That presents a challenge getting the one Corvette out since it’s kind of wedged in there. It would’ve been easier to get the 427 car out first. People have thoughts about why the owner wanted them to do that in the first place. We just think it’s weird.
But the detailers are good sports and very excited to clean up the cars, so they eagerly jump through the hoops. They go through the red C3, washing off all the grime, polishing the paint, and making it really shine. These guys detail the engine compartment and tackle the somewhat dirty interior, which of course cleans up nicely.
We have to say, the ‘Vette wasn’t trashed and fully detailed it presents incredibly well. However, when the owner comes in to see the results, he seems kind of nonplussed, especially for a guy who got a free professional detailing. Go figure.
Also, they don’t detail the other C3 Corvette, at least not in the same video, so maybe the guy isn’t all that pleased? The detailers were pretty gracious about the whole thing.
