For sitting abandoned for almost three decades, this barn find 1980 Chevy Camaro actually looks pretty good. Sure, it could use a good cleaning and probably some other things, but it doesn’t look like it’s trying to return to the earth like some barn finds do.
Is a Jeep rat rod wrong or no?
Well, it looks good until you open the doors. Inside is what professional car detailer and YouTuber The Detail Geek calls a complete biohazard. It’s all thanks to a mouse infestation, with all kinds of debris, droppings, and urine everyone inside the classic muscle car.
That alone is enough for some people to just give up on the thing and send it to the scrap yard. But a good cleaning using expert tools wielded by someone with plenty of experience yields almost magical results.

While the body doesn’t look great, it’s nothing your average automotive detailer couldn’t handle. Aside from the dirt buildup, the paint is oxidized and there are blemishes, but with a good cleaning and some paint correction, it cleans up well enough.
But the interior is something else. As the detailer really starts examining the place, he finds what looks like fertilizer as well as lentils stashed everywhere, including in the dash vents. The trunk is almost full of the stuff!
It gets even worse. Not only does he run across some dead mice, he finds a live one running around. Detailers and others who have worked on barn finds sometimes encounter snakes, racoons, and other critters, so if you want to get involved in this field, beware.

We have to say, there’s something deeply satisfying about watching a filthy car like this classic Camaro get cleaned up all the way. It looks so much better in the end and the guy who inherited it from grandpa sure is happy.
