We didn’t have a baby spider monkey caught rolling around in a Rolls-Royce Ghost on our 2025 bingo card, so this story out of Madera County, California is bizarre. But California Highway Patrol found just that when they pulled over the speeding ultra-luxury car and arrested the driver for alleged DUI.

Back to the baby spider monkey – it was dressed in a pink and purple onesie and is about the most adorable thing we’ve seen. Authorities believe the primate is about one month old. Madera County Animal Services showed up at the scene to take care of the spider monkey.
However, they announced the little guy was taken by the state’s Fish and Wildlife agency to the Oakland Zoo where he can be properly cared for. That’s really the best outcome, all things considered, because now the spider monkey can get proper care and hopefully be with his kind.
This just goes to show cops never know what they’re going to be facing when they stop someone. Just remember that that next time you get pulled over and the officer is a little unfriendly. While finding a cute spider monkey is fun, it’s more likely police deal with someone who wants to harm or kill them.
CHP officers searched the car, finding a boatload of pot and several cellphones. It doesn’t take a genius to put all those puzzle pieces together.
Not only was the driver arrested for DUI, he was charged with possession of cannabis for sale and possession of an exotic animal. Why the guy was using substances while in possession with so many as well as an illegal pet isn’t clear, but obviously that was a horrible idea.
