There’s no doubt celebrity ownership of a car can add to its vale, depending of course on the celebrity. Among automotive enthusiasts, the late Ayrton Senna enjoys essentially saint-like status, but we wonder if even he can make his Honda NSX worth as much as the current owner wants for it.
A classic Rolls-Royce with a Hellcat engine is a thing of brutal sophistication.
Images of the red Honda NSX look fantastic, so we’re guessing it’s been well cared for by the second owner. We know Senna babied the thing. Plus, the listing says it has only 39,100 miles on the odometer, so it hasn’t been driven to death.
The motorsports legend was seen with his beloved mid-engine Honda constantly. He would drive it to races, pose with it, and obviously loved driving it. That’s why some consider it an integral part of Formula One history, which the listing mentions. But does that make it wildly valuable?
As they say, something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. If someone will shell out the big bucks this seller is asking, then it’s worth that much to at least that one person. Perhaps there’s a deep-pocketed collector or F1 fan who will pounce at the opportunity to own Senna’s personal ride.
Someone might even view the acquisition as an investment, calculating this NSX will appreciate in value considerably in time. But that might not happen – we just don’t know.
As the NSX is currently listed, the seller wants a whopping £500,000 or about $628,000 USD. Usually, one of these supercars (and some would debate even applying that term to the NSX) sells for about a sixth of that. The seller apparently thinks Senna’s ownership multiplies the value by about a factor of six.
Right.
