It’s no secret Arkansas State Police doesn’t play around with fleeing suspects. Whether they’re in a car, truck, or on a motorcycle, troopers in that state will not hesitate to literally put the smack down on people who run instead of pulling over. A motorcyclist found this out the hard way when a trooper ran him over and it’s all caught on dashcam.
Watch Arkansas troopers play a dirty trick on a fleeing motorcycle.
Apparently not everyone gets just how aggressive Arkansas troopers are or we feel nobody would run from them if that were the case. This guy is traveling in the opposite direction, appearing to exceed the speed limit big time, when the trooper flips around to do a traffic stop.
Looking over his shoulder, the rider sees the trooper, twists the throttle, and really punches it. To remove any doubt that he’s running, the guy also blasts through a red light and the chase is on.
The rider seems to know well enough what he’s doing to keep ahead of the trooper through most of the many turns he takes on rural roads. But the trooper continues dogging him, wearing the guy down. That’s one of the key skills ASP likes to use for catching runners.
All it takes is the guy making one key mistake. That comes when he gains a lead, then tries turning the bike around to catch the trooper off guard by blasting past him in the opposite direction. But the guy can’t quite get it turned in time and the trooper comes along as the suspect is duck walking.
If he was expecting the trooper to just sit there while he awkwardly tries turning the motorcycle or to ask nicely for him to stop running, he’s sorely disappointed. The trooper instead just hits the bike, essentially running the suspect over. The suspect claims his leg feels broken but the trooper doesn’t care until after putting the guy in cuffs.
That’s how they roll in Arkansas. We suggest you just pull over and take your ticket.
