Controversial social media influencer and professional kickboxer Andrew Tate has found himself on the wrong side of the law in Romania once more. His admittedly impressive car collection stored at his house in Bucharest has been seized, with each ride towed off in a parade documented by journalists.
Use this as a good reminder why you don’t run from police.
In footage shared by the Associated Press, flatbed wreckers drive out of the compound, each with a pricey performance vehicle. Among them are several Ferraris, Mercedes, and even an old Lada. Not shown in the video but reportedly also towed away were a McLaren and Lamborghini.
The seizures were made as new allegations about human trafficking have been leveled against Tate and his brother. In the past cars of his have been seized but were later returned. It’s uncertain what the outcome of this action will be.
One of Tate’s lawyers told journalists that even though the vehicles were seized legally, they’re not property belonging to the brothers. What exactly that means wasn’t clarified, so we couldn’t even begin to proffer and explanation. But it might affect the fate of the luxury and exotic cars, depending on how the legal case proceeeds.
The previous vehicle seizure took place back in December of 2022, with a total of 15 vehicles taken by authorities. This is just the latest in a round of dramatic developments for the brothers.
Vehicle seizures, along with the seizers of other property, can be a controversial topic among car enthusiasts. Some believe the practice is often heavy-handed and abused, while others see it as a legitimate way for governments to punish those who break certain laws.
Tate seems to have no shortage of money, so he likely will be able to restock his collection if the Romanian government decides to keep the vehicles. Exactly how many were seized hasn’t been revealed yet.
