Aaron Paul Was Conned In A 1969 Ford Torino In Scam

Actor Aaron Paul, most famous for his iconic role as Jesse Pinkman on Breaking Bad, is quite the gearhead. He owns an impressive collection of classic rides which would make just about anyone envious. However, there’s a story of one that caused him considerable trouble, a 1969 Ford Torino, because the celebrity fell victim to a scam.

That classic Ford was a gift from the DreamWorks studio after he used it at the premier of the Need For Speed movie a decade ago. Quite a few actors are given production cars once everything wraps. Some cherish them, others put the rides up for sale, but Paul held onto the Torino.

However, in an interview with Car and Driver the actor tells the sad story of how he lost the vehicle for a time and got scammed. It all happened after he took the classic to a mechanic.

After performing some work on the Torino for Paul, the mechanic asked if the actor wanted something additional done to it. Having many other vehicles and seeing nothing wrong with the extra work, Paul agreed. This happened over and over.

Now, most people would want to see the work done before signing off on more. But we guess when you’re a rich movie star you just are used to throwing money at people without any proof of what’s been done so far, and the mechanic reportedly took full advantage.

Eventually, Paul reached out to ask the mechanic about his ride but head nothing back. After a while of no contact, the actor drove down to the shop to see what was the deal, but he couldn’t find the business.

A while later, another guy called Paul to inform him he took over the old shop after the original owner just disappeared one day. The guy hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

As for the ’69 Torino, it was sitting outside with a cover over it, rusting away. None of the work Paul paid to have done had been completed, the old mechanic simply pocketing the money and eventually running.

This is why we believe in keeping a tight leash on mechanics. Good ones will understand why. The others, well not so much.
