Dodge Ram Driver Gets Out Drinking A Beer After A PIT Maneuver

Arkansas sure is a wild place, which helps explain why police chases like this one with a Dodge Ram Daytona. The driver was allegedly intoxicated at the time, an accusation which is reinforced by his stumbling out after being pitted, drinking a beer before being arrested.

The PIT, of course, was performed by a member of Arkansas State Police. He was called in when St. Francis County Sheriff’s Office tried getting the suspect to pull over, but the Ram driver refused. You see in the dashcam footage the trooper has to navigate through a number of streets to catch up with the pursuit.

During that time, we also get to see a number of drivers fail to pull to the right and let the trooper pass. This kind of attitude mystifies us since we’re pretty sure if these same people were experiencing an emergency situation they would want first responders to reach them quickly.

The trooper is able to get through traffic, including those who won’t pull to the right, and joins in the chase. Before long he works his way up to be the lead pursuer, which isn’t hard because the full-size truck isn’t going horribly fast.

However, the suspect is blowing through red lights and in general acting recklessly. But the trooper can’t stop the Ram right away because there are too many other vehicles around. Finally, when the suspect gets to a nice stretch of road without other cars nearby, the trooper makes his move and PITs the truck out with ease.

Another ASP unit following behind the lead captures the aftermath on his dashcam, including one of the truck’s wheels rolling across the road. The suspect crawls out of the truck and the ditch it fell into, one hand up and the other clutching a beer. Before surrendering to police, he takes one last sip of his beverage, we guess for good measure.

Arkansas is a wild place, that’s for sure.
