Normally we would never be interested in a Geo Metro listed for sale. Yeah, we know there’s a cult following for the little shoeboxes on wheels, we’re just not part of that fan club. But this listed for sale in Florida caught our eye because it’s powered by two V6 engines donated by a pair of third-gen Mitsubishi Eclipses.

That’s right, this isn’t just an engine swap modification but instead it has two much more powerful mills than factory spec. One V6 powers the front wheels and the other one powers the rear, making this an all-wheel-drive Frankenstein creation.
It looks the part with sheet aluminum body panels showing rivets at the edges. The front tubular bumper looks more like something you’d see on a farm truck
According to the seller, total output is about 440-horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Of course, both axles are driven, so that gets split in half between the two. But wet weight is claimed to be 3,000 lbs. With that power-to-weight ratio, it apparently can do the quarter mile in 11 seconds, which isn’t too shabby considering.
The seller added a nice video showing the tac and speedometer under acceleration. While you can tell this isn’t a fire-breathing V8 monster, it seems to pull rather strong. We wish there was also video of it running through an autocross course or something like that, but we imagine it does at least reasonably well when it comes to handling.
As the seller also points out in the listing, this build obviously isn’t for a perfectionist. If you want that, go drop a load of cash on a Lamborghini or Ferrari. This instead is for the tinkerer who wants to keep tuning the all-wheel-drive Metro and make something even better out of it.
If you think this car might be your dream ride, be warned it’s still not cheap. Currently, it’s listed for $70,000 which we know is steep for a Geo Metro, but this build is something far more than that. Still, you have to decide if that’s fair or not.
