Rick Ross’s reputation as a prolific car collector reached a new level after he revealed that he misplaced one of the most unusual vehicles in his collection for nearly three months.
Ross, a Grammy-nominated rapper and entrepreneur, owns such a large number of vehicles that he occasionally forgets where some of them are stored. This time, the missing vehicle was not just another luxury car or classic muscle machine, but a one-of-one custom Pontiac Trans Am truck that few people even knew existed.
The vehicle blends two distinctly American automotive ideas: the pickup truck and the Pontiac Trans Am, one of the most recognizable muscle cars ever produced. Unlike Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro-based truck conversions that have existed in various forms over the years, there has never been a production Pontiac Trans Am truck. Ross’s example is a standalone creation, making it effectively irreplaceable.
According to Ross, the truck had been sitting unnoticed in one of his many garages. After searching for months, he eventually realized the vehicle had not been stolen or misplaced elsewhere, but simply lost among the sheer number of cars he owns. Once rediscovered, the truck quickly regained attention from fans, many of whom consider it one of the standout vehicles in his collection.
The Trans Am truck has become a familiar sight at Ross’s annual car show in Georgia, where it is frequently one of the most photographed vehicles on display. The event takes place at Ross’s expansive Georgia estate, known as The Promise Land, which doubles as both a residence and a venue capable of hosting tens of thousands of visitors.
Ross’s car show draws a mix of supercar enthusiasts and hip-hop fans and regularly features hundreds of vehicles. A significant portion of the cars on display belong to Ross himself, with his personal collection exceeding 100 vehicles. The event also includes VIP experiences, food vendors, and live performances by well-known artists and athletes, including Quavo, Lil Meech, and Cam Newton.
Despite the scale of his collection, Ross’s automotive journey began relatively late. He reportedly did not obtain his driver’s license until age 45, making his current status as a high-profile collector all the more unusual.
The rediscovery of the Trans Am truck serves as another example of how expansive Ross’s automotive empire has become, where even a one-of-one vehicle can briefly disappear without notice.
