A Bay Area woman is in deep trouble after authorities say she swiped her ex’s Ford Super Duty truck and tore through Menlo Park like a bat out of hell, leaving a trail of wreckage before the whole mess ended with the truck totaled and a string of smashed cars in its wake.
Lisabet Acosta Carbajal, rolling in from Arizona, showed up unannounced at her former flame Brian Dietz’s place. Things went sideways fast when cops claim she snatched the keys to his beefed-up pickup without so much as a “Hey, mind if I borrow this?” Witnesses say she clipped Dietz in the arm as she peeled out, kicking off a chain of events that reads like a bad action movie.
Menlo Park police clocked the truck soon after, but Carbajal wasn’t having any of it. She blew past them, sparking a wild, if short-lived, chase through neighborhoods where she clearly didn’t give a care about speed limits or common sense. Then—boom—she lost it. The massive truck flipped more times than a gymnast, smashing into at least eight parked cars before finally calling it quits.
Miraculously, Carbajal walked away without serious injuries, though cops slapped her with a laundry list of charges: grand theft auto, drunk driving, evasion, the works. Meanwhile, Dietz is left picking through the scrap heap that was once his ride, telling reporters he’ll salvage what he can to cobble together a replacement.
Yet another case of a California domestic spat spiraling into a full-blown vehicular circus—because why keep drama confined to text messages when you can take it to the streets? Literally.
