A custom-built limousine based on a 1966 Ford Mustang has been sold in Australia after recently finding a new owner. The vehicle was originally imported from the United States in the early 2000s before undergoing an extensive transformation that included a chassis stretch, engine swap, and right-hand-drive conversion.

The build began with a first-generation Mustang, retaining its original front and rear sections while adding a fabricated center portion to extend the body. The stretch required structural modifications to the chassis, and rear doors sourced from another classic Mustang were adapted to fit the custom layout. Visible panel gaps and minor design inconsistencies indicate its aftermarket origins, but the overall structure appears straight, with no sagging along the lower body and an even roofline.

Inside, the Mustang was reconfigured to accommodate up to eight occupants using two bench seats in the extended rear cabin. The steering wheel was relocated to the right-hand side as part of the conversion for Australian roads. A modern audio system with a subwoofer was installed, along with a power-operated privacy partition separating the driver’s area from the passenger compartment. Two separate air conditioning systems were added to manage cabin temperatures for both the front and rear sections.
The original engine was replaced with a more modern five-liter V8. While specific performance figures were not listed, the vehicle is equipped with a three-speed automatic transmission. The listing did not disclose the engine’s output, the vehicle’s true mileage, or the final sale price.

The custom Mustang limousine has now changed ownership in Australia. Further details about the buyer and future use of the vehicle were not released.
