There’s no doubt about it, a 1959 Chevy Impala is a beautiful classic car many enthusiasts would be proud to own. It’s even better when you find a convertible, like this one. But when we saw the asking price for what looks like a beautifully done example, we just about choked.
Uber driver goes off-roading on accident, damaging his car.
After all, for $230,000 we could buy a really cool supercar, maybe even two of them. That’s a hell of a lot of money to spend on an Impala, even one that looks this good.

Reading through the ad, we were expecting some completely insane modifications and a super opulent interior, like over-the-top. Instead, to us this is a really nicely done Impala, but not one that would warrant such a steep price.
According to the seller, this thing has the 348ci V8 with an Edelbrock intake plus carburetor. It also comes with the 700R4 transmission plus rack and pinion steering.
The seller makes sure to mention the interior features a Dakota Digital dash. That’s a nice addition. Also included in the ad is the statement the car is “fully dressed” which we read to mean it’s fully loaded.

In the photos included in the ad, which admittedly are pretty limited, we don’t see why real concerning elements. The car has obviously been fully restored, maybe even done on a rotisserie, but we wish the ad would get more into those details. Even if that’s true, we’re not understanding the lofty price.
Maybe there’s something we’re missing with this Impala, and please let us know if there is.
The ad is shockingly brief considering the asking price. And again, the photos leave a lot to be desired. There isn’t even one of the engine. Would you get serious about spending supercar money for this Impala? Let us know what you think.
