Most people associate actor Tom Selleck with Ferraris thanks to his time on Magnum P.I. back in the day. Because of that it might come as a shock the mustached, debonaire man used to tool around in this 1950 Dodge Power Wagon. This is most definitely a rough-and-tumble man’s truck and you can have a shot at ownership when it crosses the auction block soon.

We’ve always been fans of the classic Power Wagons, as are quite a few enthusiasts. They have a timeless, distinct look to them that’s undeniably cool. And this one used to be used as a firetruck, retaining its PTO water pump.
Perhaps that’s why the truck is still painted red. You’ll note it also has a winch bolted up front, while the payload features high-gloss wood planks for a drop-dead presentation. During a restoration, the upholstery was replaced and the interior cleaned up, plus a rifle rack was installed for memorable hunting expeditions.
That restoration also involved upgrading this Dodge to a 12-volt electrical system and a modern alternator for more reliable operation of the 230ci inline-six engine. With the four-speed manual transmission, this truck should be an absolute blast to drive just about anywhere.
Selleck reportedly used this Dodge Power Wagon on his ranch in California, so it’s seen some adventurous days with the celebrity. A photo of Selleck with the truck, plus a letter documenting his ownership, are both included in the sale. Not everyone has a pickup once owned by Thomas Magnum, so you’ll be the envy of every meet or show you take this to.
Anyone can register to bid on this 1950 Dodge Power Wagon owned by Tom Selleck, which will cross the block at no reserve during the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2024 auction. See the lot listing for yourself here.
