If you’ve been itching for a fun project car, you might want to consider this convertible 1973 Jaguar XKE. It comes with the V12 and has plenty of character, however the classic British sports car also has a fair number of issues that need addressing.
This restomod Jaguar is truly wild.
In other words, this isn’t a turn-key project. Instead, it’s something the next owner needs to have some dedication towards or this could turn out poorly.

We’re not entirely sure what’s wrong with the Jag mechanically since it’s not detailed out in the listing on Facebook Marketplace. But it’s clear the thing isn’t running great since it’s listed in “poor condition” and is described as a “project.”
If the body and interior were just trashed, we might assume the mechanicals could possibly already be sorted. But both look pretty good, although they’re going to need some reconditioning.
The body overall appears to be in great condition with no obvious signs of damage or poor paint quality. Of course, inspecting a vehicle in person will reveal things you can’t see in a few images posted online.
Similarly, the interior isn’t thrashed, although we see some surfaces which need to be fixed from use-based wear, especially in the center console. That said, the leather seats actually look rather fresh, so this thing has been at least fairly well cared for.

But shots of the engine compartment reveal rust and corrosion, not great signs. With an asking price of $32,500 we’d assume it has some big issues you’ll have to sort through, the current owner not willing to do that for some reason.
There’s another big hit against this Jag, as far as we’re concerned: it comes with an automatic transmission. That might be a big selling point for some, but we would want to row through the gears on a classic XKE.
