We know a lot of people idly wish they owned a classic car, dreaming of how cool it would be to roll around in one. But they look at all the usuals and are shocked prices far exceed their budget. That’s in part what makes this 1978 Ford Pinto Cruising Wagon a diamond in the rough, if you will.
YouTuber crashes in classic car after the brakes fail.
After all, it’s a classic by definition and we can guarantee you’ll see few others when you attend shows or join in cruises. Plus, if you want to impress the snobby types, you can argue this is in fact a shooting brake, although be prepared to defend that position (which you totally can, to chagrin of the Euro crowd).
Plus, this thing is orange with body graphics and an orange interior, so hopefully you love orange or grow to love it. The seats have orange plaid! How cool is that? You’re not going to get that on some modern BMW or even an S550 Mustang.
The owner says this Pinto runs (always a big plus) and apparently has put a new carb and fuel filter in it, so she should just purr like a kitty cat. It even comes with new tires.
Some younger folks are scared of classic cars because they don’t know how to drive stick. We think they should learn and understand the joy sucked out of modern rides. But, they should be happy to know this Cruising Wagon comes with an automatic.
Just also understand this Ford doesn’t have air conditioning. If you live where it gets really hot in the summer, you might want to consider what that means. Just remember, both of those windows roll down.
Another consideration is that this classic apparently has a restored title. That might be why the seller is only asking $8,000 for it. Do you think that’s a fair price? Would you rock out in this ride?
