Having a project muscle car to restore or just to keep running to show off can be therapeutic, so this 1969 Dodge Super Bee we recently ran across for sale might be something to consider. After all, while it’s not in great cosmetic shape, it’s apparently running and drives, so you just have to iron out the wrinkles.
Check out the aftermath of a soccer star’s Ferrari crash.
The sellers says this classic Mopar muscle car was sitting in “deep storage” in Nebraska until a couple years ago. We guess that means it was mothballed and not on the road. But the guy says after installing a new battery, gas tank, tires, wheels, master cylinder, and some other unspecified parts the old girl started running and driving no problem.
It comes with a 383ci V8 fed by a Ramcharger hood and a 4-speed, plus an 8 3/4 rear, so that’s a nice setup. Maybe not everyone is going to get worked up over that, but if that speaks to you this might be the car to get.
But the guy doesn’t specify how well it’s running. That’s a good question to ask if you really want to get this Dodge, which is listed for $22,500. We know with a price like that it’s more realistic for a lot of guys who otherwise think they can’t afford a classic muscle car.
Where this thing obviously needs help is the exterior. The vinyl roof is trashed and peeling. Even though the photos aren’t high resolution, we can tell the paint is fading, the graphics are worn off in a lot of places, there are some dents in the body panels, and it looks like there are some rust spots on the rockers. All of that can be fixed, but you have to love this vehicle to put in that kind of work (or pay someone else to do it).
Would you pull the trigger and go for this ’69 Super Bee, or would you look for a different project car?
